Hotel Meri

A lovely place to get away from the noise. We had a peaceful stay, beautiful views, welcoming hosts, and a good restaurant. Such a wonderful time at this hotel!

The desserts were the only real bright spot: the warm chocolate cake and pistachio cream were delicious. The tagliatelle with clams was far too salty, the gnocchi with asparagus and shrimp had no seasoning at all, and the tiramisu had too much cream and alcohol. For an Italian tiramisu, that just wasn't acceptable. They'd also run out of limoncello, which was frustrating. Service was the bigger problem. Our group wasn't greeted when we came in, nobody asked if we wanted drinks, and our requests for help were brushed off with strange looks. We waited 20 minutes just to place our order. People who arrived after us were served first, and at our own table three people got their meals five minutes before the rest. Those of us still waiting watched the others nearly finish eating. It felt disorganized and unfair. As a young group of Dutch people, we felt we were treated poorly. Age or nationality shouldn't affect how guests are treated. The rest of the dishes were disappointing, and with the poor hospitality and uneven service, I wouldn't recommend eating here.

The room was beautiful and had an amazing view, and the location has a lovely beach feel. The staff were super friendly, and I really enjoyed staying here. The shower door was a bit dirty and had come off its hinges.

At Hotel Meri, the service and breakfast were good, pretty standard. Restaurant Meri was the standout: a small selection of traditional Ligurian dishes, all tasty. The forcaccia was one of the best we've ever had!
