The hotel has a cute Italian feel and sits high on the mountain, with a beautiful sea view. But I was genuinely disappointed by the stay. Our room was old and hot, and the towels were mismatched: large ones were white, while the small ones included a green towel with a bleached white spot and two yellow ones, one with a little duck on it. The bathroom was outside our room, in the next room, and showering after 11pm wasn’t allowed. The bedsheets were dusty and made us itch, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything around us. Flies were everywhere at dinner in the hotel restaurant, along with bees. They swarmed us and our food, so we kept waving them off. Once we finished, they moved to the next table and its newly served customers. I completely lost my appetite. We were there in early August, and the room was so hot at night that it was hard to sleep without opening the window. There was no AC or fan. We turned the light off from the start to avoid attracting mosquitoes, but there were still lots of moths and flies, and even a centipede on the ceiling. They bothered us at night and in the morning. By around 6am, flies were buzzing around our heads and waking us up. Hiding under the covers didn’t help, and it was too hot. There was no wind, so we ended up wetting towels and sleeping with them on our bodies. You could try that too. Our room was just above the restaurant, so we heard people, dishes and music. Breakfast started at 8am, making it impossible to rest in the morning. I’d already been awake since 6 because of the flies, and at 8:30 my partner was still trying to sleep after a long drive but couldn’t. I was genuinely upset. Late at night, we also heard people chatting downstairs in the restaurant, not customers, along with things being dropped and loud noises on the stairs. The menu didn’t list prices for individual dishes, just general prices for each course on a small paper by the door.

We arrived and canceled our planned four-night stay straight away. The room was dated, maybe about 50 years old, and the flies were unbearable. Online forums make it look as if the hotel is right by the sea, but it’s 300 meters lower down, and the trip there is hell, even if you’re used to the countryside. Only one person speaks English, and it’s very broken. A shock.

The view was stunning, and the people were extremely kind. We only stayed one night, but it was my favorite place we visited. Dinner was probably the best I had during our time in Italy. I really enjoyed the place and would highly recommend it.

The setting is beautiful, with animals and vineyards surrounding the house, and a great view over the valley and ocean. It’s about 300 meters in elevation from Framura train station to Foce del Prato, so you should drive here. The rooms are nice and clean; the interior isn’t modern, but it suits the surroundings. Prices for the rooms are good, and dinner is amazing, with locally produced wine and genuine Italian cuisine. The staff were excellent, and I’d give the location, rooms, food, service and facilities 5/5.

It’s calm and romantic up on the mountain, with large clean rooms, generous shared outdoor spaces and a lovely terrace with a stunning view. The staff were super friendly, service was top notch and check-in and checkout were easy. The genuine interior suits the surroundings, even though it isn’t modern. The pricing was okay and felt worth the money. Getting here without a car is a bit tricky. Walking up is quite a climb, and the bus from Framura train station doesn’t run very often. There are no grocery shops nearby either. WiFi works well in the common areas, but there’s none in the room.
