Prackfiedererhof

The apartment at Prackfiederer Hof felt like home, and we had everything we needed. The Fink family made us feel very welcome, and everything was spotless and well organized. After more than 20 years of hiking, our first visit to the Villnöss Valley gave us beautiful, varied trails and plenty of places to stop for a bite or a drink. We’re leaving a little sad, but already know we’ll come back.

The Mela apartment was roomy and comfortable, with two bathrooms, a hairdryer, a dishwasher, and a balcony where we could eat. There’s a big enclosed garden where children can play safely, plus animals and games, all with views of the Odle mountains. The garden produce was delicious, and the owner kindly did our laundry three times during our two-week stay. Grandma also brought us homemade desserts each week. Getting around was easy: the location works well for hikes in the Odle mountains and the Isarco Valley, with Chiusa and Bressanone nearby, Bolzano not far away, and the highway toll booth close by. The farm card let us leave the car parked and travel by bus and train for free. The hosts were lovely, welcoming, and always helpful. Everything was excellent.

We’ve taken plenty of trips, but this was easily our favorite. We stayed in the Traube apartment and had a wonderful time; it had all the comforts we needed. Mrs. Siglinde was so kind and helpful, and gave us all the information we needed. We loved being able to book breakfast each morning and enjoy fresh local products. Their apple juice is unbeatable, and we drank it every day for a week. The location is handy too: the bus stop for the mountain is within walking distance, and the owner includes Dolomiti Cards with the accommodation, giving us seven days of free bus travel. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you, Fink family, this place has won our hearts!

We’ve been coming back to Prackfriedererhof for our winter sports break every year for over five years, and we’ve already booked again for next year. The larger apartment makes a great base for skiing in Val Gardena or at Plose, and there’s a lovely slope in the valley for learning to ski. Siglinde is always there for us and gives us useful tips. We also really like the bread roll service and the apple juice from the orchard in front of the house. The valley is beautiful, and one day we’d like to come in summer too.
