Resort Hotel Marinella

The beach had convenient facilities and was well equipped, with enjoyable entertainment for children and adults. The location was great, breakfast was good though not very varied, and everything was comfortable. We were generally satisfied with the hotel itself. What seriously affected our holiday was the hotel's display of a political position. Everyone can support whatever they believe in, but on vacation I want a break from politics, especially when I disagree with what's being expressed. A political flag unrelated to Italy or the local area hung right outside our balcony. I found that inappropriate and uncomfortable, and I can see how some guests might find seeing it from their balcony and at the entrance completely unacceptable. Before booking again, I'd want to know if this has changed. Guests should be told in advance if political displays are part of the hotel's environment, since people come from many countries, cultures, nationalities, and religions. It's unfortunate that publicly expressing certain political views seemed to take priority over guests' wish for a peaceful, neutral holiday. In response to the owner's reply, thank you. I'd hoped the flag was simply an unfortunate attempt to call for peace in a neutral way, rather than a political statement. Your response confirmed that it was a deliberate political gesture, whatever you choose to call it. During our stay, this was the only hotel we saw with such a flag. It stood out, not as a symbol of awareness, but as a clear departure from the neutral atmosphere most guests expect on holiday. I think it would be appropriate and respectful to tell guests ahead of time if they'll be part of a political message or campaign, especially one involving international conflicts. People travel to relax, disconnect, and feel safe in a shared space that welcomes different backgrounds without imposing ideological positions. I understand the wish to raise awareness, but putting political expression ahead of guests' comfort risks alienating people who came for peace and rest. Thank you.

Great breakfast service, with frizzante available if you want it, plus free bikes, a mini gym, and a very good private beach.

The location was the only good thing for me. Breakfast was the same every day with very little choice. It's sunny Italy, yet there were no fresh vegetables at breakfast, and the pineapple and watermelon served daily were poor and unripe. The breakfast rules felt like a camp, you weren't allowed to help yourself to food from the hot buffet. The woman serving it was rude and unpleasant. The hotel is old and generally messy, with things like an open ceiling and cables hanging down. The entertainment was a disaster: one hour a day, in the morning from 11 to 12. Only on Thursdays was there a party with music for children at 9 p.m. I'm disappointed. Apart from the location, I can't see any advantages.

What a great hotel, and the staff were wonderful. Lufthansa lost my luggage on the flight to Ancona, and the owner literally gave me the clothes off his back until my suitcase arrived. An amazing experience!
