The welcome was courteous and on time, and the room was in decent shape overall, furnished but very minimal. Some basics were missing: a mirror outside the bathroom, shower caps, hand soap, plastic cups, and a teaspoon. The building is in good condition, but the room is on the second floor and there's no lift. Most of all, the bed was a letdown. The mattress was completely rotten and felt like a hammock. Since I tend to have back pain, sleeping on it was an ordeal. At this price, which isn't cheap, I don't think it's worth it.

Rosanna's service was impeccable, and when I reported the dirty air conditioning filters, she promptly arranged to have them cleaned. Still, the room wasn't well maintained and had very little furniture. The bathroom's lovely whirlpool tub showed clear signs of age, and the AC had been too dirty to cool the room. The location is handy for Serapo beach and the harbor promenade, but over €200 a night is far too much for what was offered.

Shame! We paid €210 cash per night for a quadruple room, then arrived to find a run-down building surrounded by bins and garbage bags. The room was grimy and poorly cleaned. The bed looked freshly made, but the sheets were creased and seemed almost used. There was a cockroach in the room, and the owner was nowhere to be found. I can understand why.

I knew Il Viaggiatore already from a stay at one of their other B&Bs, and the helpful, kind, attentive hosts were just as reassuring this time. The spacious, clean room had a hot tub, and private parking was available, which mattered a lot for our stay. It's centrally placed for getting to Serapo Lidi and medieval Gaeta. Breakfast could be had at three different bars. Everything was truly perfect.
