Hotel Burgfrieden

A clean, simple 3-star hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The food was great, the service excellent, and the hosts lovely. Recommended.

It was okay.

We’ve been here at least four times for skiing, three trips with my parents and one with friends. The combined price was unbeatable. The rooms were a little dated, though I think they’ve since been renovated. Dinner was fantastic, and the sauna was perfect for easing sore muscles ☺️

The Hotel Burgfrieden sits among the green mountains of South Tyrol, in a beautiful wooden building with balconies full of colorful flowers. The clean air felt clean in every sense. Our rooms were meticulously furnished with elegant carpets, and the restaurant was refined, with neatly arranged tables and retro lamps. The natural pool outside, almost against the foot of the mountain, looked lovely, though its water temperature seemed more suited to summer. The delicious Tyrolean menu was served by young women in traditional Tyrolean dress, whose service was professional, kind and friendly. The room service staff kept everything clean and tidy. The owner is eccentric but very friendly, and showed us his collection of more than 800 firefighter helmets, gathered over 40 years, beginning with the helmet he wore as a young firefighter. My wife Paola and I spent four dream days here. This mini holiday was arranged by AbruzzoinBus, led by its owner Davide Meo. Their professional drivers took our group through much of the Pusteria Valley, from Lake Braies to splendid Bolzano. I want to publicly thank Davide Meo in this five-star review for Mr. Frieden, because he and his “extraterrestrial” drivers gave 40 people a magical mini-week in this little gem of the Pusteria Valley.
