La Cascina di Villa Due

The traditional home cooking was lovely, especially the homemade desserts. I highly recommend the hazelnut cake, it was a real treat. Breakfast is served on the veranda by a fireplace, and the friendly welcome is part of what makes the place special. It’s tucked into the hills near Barolo, quiet and peaceful, with spacious rooms, beautiful bathrooms and parking on site. The value is excellent.

At the end of the day, it was nice to unwind in the small wellness area, with its sauna and hot tub. The room was clean and cozy, with TV and Wi-Fi, and breakfast came in a little room warmed by a lovely stove. We also had dinner there two nights and were very happy with what we ordered, especially for the reasonable prices. The property is well kept and clean, and the location makes it easy to reach the interesting spots around the Langhe. Thanks to Mr. Dino, who can come across as a little "rigid" at first, but you just need to break the ice. I’d recommend it in summer too. There’s a beautiful garden with games for children and a well-equipped swimming pool.

We had some fantastic dishes and lovely wines in a beautiful area. It’s a lovely family hotel with a delicious restaurant, and everywhere was clean and tidy. The family are nice people, and you can have a good conversation in Italian, of course, or communicate well in English if you don’t speak Italian. I explained in English that I wanted to play the expensive, well-tuned piano. It was a privilege, but they let me play.

This was our third visit in six years, and every time the hospitality, courtesy, cleanliness throughout and food have been just right. From what I’ve read in other reviews, we’ve always found a bidet too. It’s a great base for exploring the Langhe. Thanks to the whole family!
