Hotel Villa Elisabetta

Calling this a hotel or resort takes a lot of imagination. It’s a villa in the middle of nowhere, run by one person. The suite had a musty smell from the old, moldy furniture. The room was clean, but the value for money was terrible.

The villa itself is beautiful, but the welcome fell short. Our host seemed almost irritated that we got up at 9:00, even though breakfast ran until 10:00, and came across as quite cold. Breakfast was very limited: no buffet or sign of local treats like pasticciotto, just a choice of cappuccino or coffee, with yogurt as a “possibly.” For what we paid, the value was hard to understand.

Out in the countryside, the villa feels removed from city noise while still being easy to reach. The pool is lovely, the rooms have all the comforts, and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was generous and varied, and the staff were welcoming. Mr. Enrico was especially courteous and always available. The place is carefully thought out and charming, and worked well for families, couples, or solo travelers. We had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it.

We stayed in a trullo surrounded by greenery, and it was a beautiful experience. Mr. Enrico was generous with his time and made the whole property available to us. Breakfast was excellent, especially the pasticciotto di galatina we enjoyed each morning. The place is magnificent, and Gallipoli is only 15 minutes away. Go there, it's truly lovely.
