The meal had a few problems, and the management's careless, defensive response turned an outing we'd planned for a long time into a disappointment. My linguine with mixed seafood was good, but the starter was a loose take on the familiar mussels gratinate. The mixed seafood appetizer felt overambitious, though parts of it worked. The worst dish was the overpriced linguini ricci, another interpretation, with a gravy-like sauce, served lukewarm. The plates weren't heated; on a mild evening outdoors, a chef should know they'll lose heat once they leave the kitchen. When we raised the temperature issue, the owner/hostess flatly denied there was a problem and made things uncomfortable. She wasn't eating the food, so we were in a better position to judge. There was also a dirty starter plate, clumsy clearing that left tomato sauce on my Covid mask, and white wine served lukewarm instead of cold. The place looks attractive at first, but the food quality, service, ambience, and value didn't live up to that. L'Antico Frantoio charges four-star prices for two-star service, and the menu is inconsistent, with some good dishes and some poor ones.

The location was a serious drawback: the hotel is off a motorway, with nothing nearby, so you need a car or taxis to get to the nearest towns. The breakfast was very basic, and it felt as though they were close to charging for tap water too. Staff were rude, and the place was overpriced. I had booked a junior suite for €230 per night, with one double and one single bed, but on arrival they'd reserved a room with only a double. After a long disagreement, they added a very uncomfortable makeshift single bed and charged another €30 per night.

We chose this pleasant countryside location for its peace and its convenient base for seeing the region. We didn't expect the manager to hold a party for around 40 to 50 people with a DJ. The music was so loud we couldn't talk at our table, and we couldn't sleep until midnight. All night, the bright emergency light above our entrance kept switching on and off, with its three white bulbs. Breakfast was mediocre too: two croissants for four people and three rolls for four. No manager was there when we checked out. We reported all of this to the receptionist, who said he would pass it on. The staff were friendly and helpful but couldn't resolve these problems, and we weren't offered any compensation. Avoid this place.
