Residenza Lungomare Galilei

At sunset the panorama is stunning, stretching from Gallipoli's historic center and Sant'Andrea Island to Punta Pizzo and Gallipoli Bay. Galilei Promenade sits on the southern shore, along the Sirocco Riviera. The spot itself deserves five stars, but the local administration's neglect and abandonment bring it down to one. That averages out to three.

At night and in the early hours, groups of young people coming back from parties can take over the place, singing loudly and sometimes bothering residents. Earlier in the day, it's a lovely, long promenade with playgrounds for children, bars, and sandwich shops. Lots of people go jogging there early in the morning.

Such a lovely place, but what a shame it’s been left to run down. With some repairs and cleaning, plus paths for runners and cyclists, it could be fabulous.
