The room water bottles looked original, but seemed to have been refilled and weren’t properly sealed. Breakfast was disappointing in both choice and quality, and sound carried through the walls, so it was noisy.

We found the rooms really clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The little pool and outdoor jacuzzi were a lifesaver in the Tuscan heat. It’s a good small hotel for a stop on the Via Francigena.

The owner was welcoming and quite nice, which was the bright spot. The room was terribly cold, with no way to heat it, and the shower had no hot or even warm water. Breakfast was pretty bad too. At this nightly price, it’s far too expensive for what you get and needs improvement.

Teresa made us feel so welcome, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our room opened onto the terrace, and the kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. We were walking the Via Francigena and arrived a bit early, but Teresa happily held our bags while we looked around town. She recommended a restaurant where we had a fabulous dinner, then served us a wonderful breakfast the next morning. As Australians, we like a Flat White, and after a short lesson Teresa was able to make one for us. I’d recommend visiting Gambasse Termi and meeting Teresa at Villa Della Certosa.

Breakfast was OK, and the room was cozy, with a door opening onto a terrace where we could sit outside. On our Via Francigena walk, these were the BEST BEDS we had!
