Hotel Centrale

The rooms were really nice, with roomy en suites, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great too. Definitely recommend.

The staff were exceptionally nice and always glad to help. Our room was clean, fresh and very nice, with a wonderful mountain view. It seemed that every room had a view and a small balcony. The location was excellent too, only a few minutes’ walk from the ferry jetty, but clearly outside the immediate city center. Breakfast was very good and just what we needed.

The owners, a mother and son, made us feel at home, and the hotel was exceptionally clean, cleaner than some five-star places we've stayed. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including eggs, fruit, yogurt, cake, toast, rolls, cereal, jams, and drinks. It's a simple, lovely hotel, just a five-minute walk from the lake and town centre, with a supermarket across the road. We'd happily recommend it.

We complained twice about the wine, but no one had checked in about our meal, and the response was that it was meant to taste that way. It was watery. We usually order a litre of house wine in Italy and have always enjoyed it elsewhere, so it was easy to suspect water had been added. The food was bad too, which has never happened to us on our many trips here. If you don't want to waste money and spoil your holiday mood, go somewhere else.
