Hotel Tre Corone

We’d meant to try another bar, but this one was nearly empty and had a lovely view, so we sat down. Glad we did. The drinks and ice we ordered were really good and beautifully presented, and they brought us complimentary chips and olives. The waiters were pleasant, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I’m surprised it wasn’t busier. A very nice bar for a laid-back meal, and I’d recommend it.

I only tried the outdoor seating, so I can’t speak for the hotel itself. The view across the lake and hills was beautiful, and the drinks were very reasonably priced. My white wine was nicely chilled, and they also have non-alcoholic cocktails.

The ferry is just a couple of minutes away, and the bus station only a little farther, so getting around Lake Garda was easy. We stayed at Hotel Tre Corone in August 2017 and would happily return. Ours was a spacious enough room on the third and top floor, with an adequate bathroom and a balcony looking over Lake Garda and the town promenade. It had a retractable awning for shade. The hotel felt delightful, clean, and well cared for, with a friendly family running it. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and the tables outside were a lovely place for a nightcap and some people-watching. We’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting the lake.

The beds in Room 10 were a bit stiff for us, though it had a large terrace. The hotel is right at the harbor, just steps from the ferry, and the staff are lovely. You’ll need a little basic Italian. Breakfast was a fabulous buffet with melon, prosciutto, and boiled eggs. We also loved the cocktails and bruschetta at the waterside tables under the umbrellas.
