The cold, damp winter weather on the north side of the hill was the only downside. It might actually be an advantage in summer. Apart from that, everything was excellent: a great host, a breakfast with lots of choices, comfortable beds, big rooms, nice decor in a typical Italian house, and even a pleasant smell. There's a good walk up the hill. Alessio is a 15 minute drive, a typical coastal village with sandy beaches and no parking. The village also has an excellent family restaurant.

We only stayed a short time, but we'll definitely come back. It's a beautiful, quiet spot in the Ligurian countryside, not far from the coast. The first things we'll remember are the spotless rooms, a small but charming pool, and the lush garden.

At Borgata Cantone Country House B&B, at Borgata Cantone 15 in Garlenda, in the province of Savona, everything is geared toward sustainability and energy efficiency. They have recycling and disposal points for batteries and light bulbs, stations to refill water bottles, and no plastic is used. The food and drinks are organic, including eggs from free-range hens, and even the hygiene products are fully organic. There are rooms, a pool, a spa, and a great parking lot. Breakfast is free in the morning. The village is spectacular, with breathtaking views, greenery and peace. All the rooms are super clean and sanitized. There's also bar service if you fancy a drink with friends during the day, with biscuits or cakes too. I recommend this place for anyone who loves weekends in nature and complete serenity.
