Hotel Marina

I felt so unwell after this stay that I would give it zero stars. We booked Hotel Marina in Gatteo Mare on August 12, 2025, through Booking.com and paid by card. On the first day, I was unhappy with the room because the floor was very dirty and covered in sand. Nobody cleaned or turned it down the next day, and the sheets were all the same. By day three, the room was still dirty and smelled bad. There was no sign of cleaning products being used. On the second night I developed lots of itchy red spots, and they stayed until the last day. We went to a local pharmacy, where the doctor told me they were bed bug bites from the hotel's beds. It was the most horrible thing I've ever experienced in a hotel.

I'm posting this for my family, who weren't happy with their stay. Lunch and dinner were basically the same, and the portions were meager. They had health problems and had to leave early, so they only stayed two nights, but the owner charged them €700. Shameful, to say the least. Mr. Giuseppe, I'd like to mention that I spent €600 for eight days in Sardinia during the week of August 15th. My family will know what to do next year.

My daughter went with her soccer team for four days this weekend, and the food was terrible. Breakfast bread was stale from the day before, there was no proper bread, and they got plain pasta with chips and meat as tough as wood. Just an awful experience.

We booked two economy rooms and were worried the attic would be too hot, but the air conditioning worked brilliantly. The hotel was clean, welcoming and well cared for outside too. We were right by the sea, and both lunch and dinner were great, with fish cooked really well. The staff were very kind and attentive about food allergies. They welcomed our furry friend too, and we agreed on the room cleaning arrangements. We only had five days and wanted to enjoy them, which we did. A special mention for the owner's understanding and skill with people with disabilities, which really stood out. Thank you!
