Hotel Vienna

The location is excellent, but I found the rest of the place hard to forget for all the wrong reasons. Reception was practically nonexistent, and breakfast was poor and questionable in quality. The website says rooms include air conditioning, but I was told on arrival it costs an extra €3 per day. The hairdryer kept cutting out, so it was no use if you needed to dry your hair. I couldn't use the balcony because the air conditioner above was dripping onto it. At €150 a night including tourist tax, you can find much better. For that price, I'd expect trained staff, not receptionists who don't understand their own website. I strongly advise staying elsewhere.

It's a small hotel close to the beach and handy for an evening walk around Gatteo. I'd give the hotel itself 3/5, but the weekend was so confusing and frustrating that I couldn't enjoy it properly. Overall, 1/5. Organization was 1/5. Reception staff didn't seem to know how to manage guests, and nobody was there in the morning until 10:00, so you had to fend for yourself if something went wrong. Parking was advertised for people who booked a room, and we paid for it, but it apparently wasn't available. When we got back after the evening, our spot was taken and we had to park somewhere else. The cost was 1/5. The prices are reasonable, but I don't think the place is worth them. On arrival, we were made to pay extra charges that hadn't been mentioned when booking. Air conditioning also costs extra. Booking.com at least gives you a guarantee of a room. Other issues were 1/5. They forgot to give us the code for entering after reception hours. I spent 10 minutes searching around the door for a sensor before finding out it was switched off. There's no breakfast service in the morning, though in the end that may be for the best. If you're on a budget and booking at the last minute, it might suit you, but the problems and mix-ups made the stay a mess.

We've chosen this lovely family for the fourth year in a row. The new hotel has more space, and Salvatore has renovated every area. Our room was completely new and very modern, and it had a shower, which I think is essential. The food has got better over the years and was just as good this time. Highly recommended for families with young children and grandparents!

We were there from August 11, 2019, to September 18, 2019. The hotel is very close to the beach, which is handy, and the rooms were cleaned and tidied every day. The owners and staff were helpful, and I thought all the food served buffet-style during this period was good. The hotel and its services are adequate, though they don't pay much attention to what little ones need.
