Agriturismo Casa Montecucco

My favorite camping place so far. It's really quiet, with clean toilets, heated showers, and even a swimming pool.

The view is stunning, the family made us feel so welcome, and the rooms were spotless. Really lovely place, with honest, good food too!

We paid by card, which was no problem. The room was very clean, and our dog settled right in and made new friends. The shop has a thoughtful selection of products, and the fresh olive oil is my tip. It tastes like the color green, but be warned, it's addictive! Breakfast and dinner were super, as were the house wine and Prosecco. It's a lovely family-run place, and if we get the chance, we'd happily return. We were here for a week in Tuscany in mid-October. I'm usually moved to write reviews when something goes completely wrong or when I'm absolutely thrilled, and we were thrilled. I'd give six stars if I could. A few little things: the pool wasn't working, apparently because it was too dirty, and the whirlpool was also out of use and stayed covered. It was the absolute off-season, so I understand, and we were out a lot anyway. The room felt too cold, especially at first. I don't know if there was a heater, as nothing was mentioned or offered. There was a brief issue with the water heater, but the owner handled it without a problem and the water was warm 15 minutes later. None of this bothered us much, since we weren't after a typical “hotel vacation.” The access road has rough gravel in places and takes patience and courage. In some spots it's really pushing the limits.

We loved how Casa Montecucco sits right in the countryside, with a farm beside it. Being away from everything helped us switch off and relax. A kind young family lives and works there, and welcomed us warmly. The food is simple, traditional, and authentic, with breakfast and dinner reflecting the local area. Their honey deserves a special mention. We loved it so much we bought some. Our room was spacious, simply but elegantly furnished, and even cool in the evenings. The pool and the veranda for meals both look out over the countryside. It was just a 4-day getaway, but we felt right at home. Thanks to Jessica and Filippo, their two daughters, the ladies who served breakfast and dinner, and their sweet dogs. We'll be back.
