Cairoli Stylish Apartment by Wonderful Italy

Once you get inside, the hotel feels cosy and tucked away from the busy streets. It's hidden within a large building, reached along a corridor and then by stairs or lift to the upper floors. You can still hear some city sounds from the rooms, so it gets a little noisy at times. The rooms were clean and had the things we needed. It made a nice base for a couple of days, with easy access to the city.

The staff were so helpful, and they even arranged the little birthday surprise I asked for for my daughter. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cairoli. The room was clean and breakfast was good, and the location put us close to all the tourist spots. If I could give more than five stars, I would. When we come back to Genova, I'll choose Hotel Cairoli again. Thank you so much, Hotel Cairoli, for looking after us. Until next time ❤️

Breakfast costs extra, and they should make that clearer. It adds $10 per person per day to the final bill, even if you only have coffee. The elevator is tiny, just about two people with a suitcase each, and otherwise it's three flights of stairs. The internet was decent, though the walls are thin. Beds are small, smaller than twin beds for single guests. The room was similar to others in this price range, if a little small by American standards. The location in Genoa is great, near the train station and within walking distance of most places. After staying in several hotels around Italy, I'd put Cairoli at about a 3.5: decent in some ways, just okay in others, and unsatisfactory in a few.

You're never far from the port, train station, or old town, each within about a 10-minute walk. There's a small eatery across the street and a Carrefour Express just two minutes past the hotel. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast spread was lovely. Staff were helpful, and although the lift is slow, it'll take up to three people to the third floor where the entrance is. There are still stairs to manage once you're inside, on the way to the bedrooms. It's a well-kept little boutique place with about 16 rooms and limited shared space, though it doesn't have many guests. There's also a small upstairs area to sit outside when the weather's dry.
