Garden Suite

We were very happy with our two nights and would gladly come back. The staff were fantastic and helpful, and breakfast was included in the price, with a good sweet and savory selection. A bakery brought fresh croissants and patisseries each morning. There were also free drinks in the fridge and bathroom amenities, which was a nice surprise for the price. The location worked well for us, within walking distance of sights and restaurants, and the private parking we booked was practical right in the middle of Genova. Our rooms were huge, with high ceilings and bright colors. We had a family apartment with a full kitchen and another double room facing the garden. The place is a little dated, especially the sockets and bathroom, but it's spacious, functional, and very clean. I find some of the reviews unfair. People want a central location and complete silence, which isn't always possible in a big city.

I had to cut short my one-night stay because the street noise in my room was unbearable. I'm a very light sleeper and need complete quiet, and motorcycles kept roaring past, sometimes racing, along with cars. I mean nonstop. The apartment seemed to amplify it, and the rooms facing the street were worst. I asked to switch rooms, but none were free. They offered a change the next day and even a bigger, better room, but the noise came through throughout the apartment, so I couldn't wait. The outside area was quiet, though I could still hear motorcycles and scooters from behind. The room itself was mesmerizing, with a ceiling painted like an old church and a vintage feel. Breakfast was amazing and delicious. The owners were sweet and wonderful, and thankfully they were kind about refunding the second day after I called booking and the owner. I really wished I could have stayed another two or three days, but the lack of nighttime calm made it impossible. I'm not exaggerating. Finding the place was stressful, too. I had to call several times because I couldn't find a clear picture of it on booking. The young lady staying there didn't speak English, only the owners did. I ended up reaching the owner by phone, and they came out clearly onto the street to direct me while I was sweating and carrying my 20 k bag. My suggestion would be to seal the windows. If I owned this beautiful place, I'd do whatever it took to fix its one negative point. Best of luck.

The owner was amazingly nice and made me feel at home from the start, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Pets are very welcome. This historical villa has lots of personality, with a pleasant garden for relaxing and a clean, comfortable room with all the essentials. Breakfast was lovely, with options for different tastes and dietary restrictions, including gluten-free and vegan food, plus fresh croissant and focaccia genovese every morning. Snacks were available through the day, too. The location is convenient, about a 10 minute walk from Brignole and close to the center and nearby restaurants. I highly recommend this magic spot in Genoa.
