Guest House Roma

This is a set of rooms with a couple of shared bathrooms, more like a hostel than a hotel. My bedroom had no AC, the fan didn’t work, and the mini fridge wasn’t plugged in. Getting inside for evening check-in was almost impossible. We got lucky because other residents let us in. Staff don’t arrive until around 9 in the morning, though the man there was very nice.

Pietro, the manager, was lovely and very helpful. The room felt authentic and was comfortable, with a clean bathroom and lovely towels. The guest house sits amid everything you’d want to see in Genoa, yet still has a peaceful feel. Great comfort and location for the price. Highly recommended!

We loved Genova so much that we decided to stay another night, and booked with Pietro at the last minute. He was wonderfully accommodating and made sure we had what we needed. The guesthouse is central, near great restaurants, shops, and sights. Bathrooms are shared, but there are plenty on the floor, so we never had to wait. Breakfast came with croissants, juice, cookies, espresso, and cappuccinos. Pietro speaks only a little English, but communicates his meaning really well with non-Italian speakers and also told us a lot about the area. Great choice if you want an authentic Genova stay.

The location is ideal, but the price feels high for what you get. There’s no private bathroom or breakfast, the Wi-Fi barely works, and the hosts speak only Italian and weren’t there for checkout. I wouldn’t recommend it.
