Hotel Doria in Genoa was a major letdown for accessibility. The hotel gives an impression online that may suggest otherwise, but it is absolutely not wheelchair-friendly. Getting there is exhausting: the nearby streets are steep and uneven, and the route is extremely difficult, practically impossible for a wheelchair user. Inside, stairs and narrow passages add to the problem, with little provision for people with reduced mobility. The bathroom is far too small and hard to access, with none of the adaptations needed for wheelchair users, so using it independently is almost impossible. I wouldn’t consider this a suitable hotel for anyone who relies on a wheelchair. Future travelers with disabilities need accurate information. Accessibility is a basic requirement, and Hotel Doria fails badly on it.

I’d happily choose this hotel again. It was very clean, the staff were really helpful, and breakfast was delicious. The cappuccino was the best I tried in Genova. Thanks for everything.

The rooms were modern, clean, and tidy, and the staff made sorting out our booking change easy. We’d accidentally reserved the wrong night through an outside agency, but the hotel shifted it to the date we needed without any fuss. They also found a safe place for our bicycles. Had a great stay and would recommend it.

You wouldn’t guess from the old exterior, but inside it’s modern. The room had plenty of space, and the bathroom was clean and pleasant.

The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and I was especially impressed by how friendly and helpful they were. Our room was comfortable and clean. Hotel Doria is also handy for getting to lots of good restaurants, cafés, and attractions nearby. We had a really nice stay and would recommend it.
