Ipazia House

A metro stop is only a few steps away, and the Genoa Aquarium takes about five minutes to reach on foot. The port area can be a bit concerning because some shady characters hang around, though they don’t bother anyone. The hostess was attentive and explained everything we needed to make the most of the city. It’s a charming little house in old Genoa, renovated beautifully with all the comforts, and has a refined, tasteful feel. Breakfast was delicious.

There’s some noise at night, but we’ll definitely come back. The apartment was carefully looked after, and the owner was very attentive. When we arrived, she had lots of cold drinks and fruit ready for us. It’s an easy walk to the aquarium, and there’s everything needed for cooking and showering. There were games for the children, and my son was delighted. 😉

The area is a little chaotic, though the Genoa Aquarium is just a short walk away. You can get there by train and get off at Genova Piazza Principe. The apartment is up a narrow alley on the second floor, with no elevator. Inside, there’s a double bedroom with a fake rose on the bed, a lovely kitchen, living room, and bathroom, plus two air conditioners, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Wi-Fi worked pretty well, and there were plenty of books and movies. They’d left plenty of food in the fridge and on the table. The woman managing the apartment was very kind, offered coffee, carried our bags, and used a map to point out interesting places nearby.

The lady was very kind, and the house is really close to the aquarium. I only stayed one night, though. It’s packed with all kinds of things that feel useless, like the owner’s storage room. The closets are so full they’re unusable, and there wasn’t room to fold even one shirt. I couldn’t sleep because of people screaming outside the windows. Given the area, it felt very multi-ethnic.
