Being near the port may be the hotel’s only real advantage. I wasn’t happy with the lack of a proper reception and having to communicate only through WhatsApp. Our room was a room inside an apartment, which the description hadn’t made clear. The bed frame felt unstable and the mattresses were uncomfortable. The bedside tables were literally cardboard. The bathroom was small and dark, and the AC didn’t cool the room well. Cleanliness was a serious issue: there was dust on the floor, and the bathroom didn’t feel clean or inviting. The sink was loosely attached to the wall. There were gaps around the room door, so you could see through them and hear everything. It didn’t feel private.

The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and nicely equipped. It’s about a five-minute walk to the port and main squares, with plenty of places nearby for breakfast or dinner. Just keep in mind the apartments are on the fourth floor. A great place to stay when visiting Genova, highly recommended.

These apartments are very affordable and set in old Genova, close to the porto antico and within walking distance of the old centre. The houses are very old, with impressive, authentic ceilings, and the area has that relaxed Italian feel, even though traffic restrictions make the place hard to find and reach. The beds were good, the bathroom was simple but perfectly adequate, and there was a small jacuzzi. My one criticism is that the air conditioning leaked.

The location’s great, and the apartment is fantastic. It mixes modern style and decor with a very old building, and the price is good. Even a washing machine is provided. Coming from a picky person 😊
