Palazzo Durazzo Suites

My car was damaged while parked at Palazzo Durazzo Suites during my stay in Genoa from December 6 to December 8, 2025. The hotel acknowledged what happened and opened a claim with its insurance company, but more than three months later the matter is still unresolved. Getting any clear communication has been extremely frustrating. My emails went unanswered for long stretches, and the replies I eventually received were vague, with responsibility passed between the hotel, the insurer, and outside agencies. I was even told the insurance company had tried to reach me to inspect the car, but that isn’t true. I never got a call or email. I repeatedly asked whether they needed any more documents, photos, or an inspection from me, and each time was told nothing else was required. There’s still no resolution or clear timeline. For a hotel claiming to offer a five-star experience, this lack of communication and responsibility is deeply disappointing. I hope management finally takes responsibility and handles the matter properly.

The hotel itself is a haven of peace, even though it sits in a very busy part of Genoa. The nearby streets may not be particularly scenic, but most sights are an easy walk away. Friends who’d stayed before recommended Palazzo Durazzo, and after about four nights on my first visit to Genoa, I completely understand why. The staff were polite, helpful, and often one step ahead. My room felt comfortable, charming, and thoughtfully put together. Breakfast was delicious and carefully prepared. I’d only suggest adding smart TVs so guests can stream from their own devices.

A really good three-night stay and great value for the money. The staff were extremely nice, and my room was spacious and in good condition. Breakfast was much better than what hotels in Italy tend to serve. I’d gladly come back.

The staff were helpful, breakfast was very good, and the Wi-Fi worked well after I got a second code because the first one didn’t work on some of my devices. The hotel is in the old town, though some of the nearby shops are a bit grotty. Inside, the building is lovely, with frescoes in the breakfast room, and the stylishly furnished rooms are gorgeous.
