Rex Hotel Residence

Shops, bus stops, and a beach with lovely views are all close by, and the prices seemed fairly reasonable. The hotel looks good from outside. My room was simply designed but had what I needed, including air conditioning, a fridge, and a stove, which I found handy. There was a coffee and tea vending machine in the hallway, and housekeeping came daily. Cleanliness was decent. I did have a few issues. There was nowhere to dry clothes, and I felt my privacy was invaded when the cleaning staff moved my belongings. The website also wasn’t clear about whether rooms were double or twin. At check-in they assumed we wanted a double, but we expected twin beds and found the bed set up as one large bed. It wasn’t a major problem, but the booking information should explain the choice better. The hotel has good points, though these things did affect the stay.

For a short stay the hotel is generally fine, and there’s parking for €15 a day. But our one-bedroom apartment was very old and didn’t look like the pictures on Booking. At €160 a night, I don’t think it was worth the price.

The staff were really nice, and the location was great, close to both the beach and bus station. The rooms were very clean and came with a kitchen, AC, Smart TV, and hairdryer.

I was grateful to be able to use the bathroom! We then booked a wonderful room on the second floor. The room was super clean, the Wi-Fi was great, and the lady at reception was extremely helpful. Her English was very good, which was lucky since my Italian starts at spaghetti and ends with salami. There’s parking right under the hotel, with the car entrance on the left. The location is excellent for the Genoa harbor, and this is a great place to stay. We’ll probably book another night. ITALY!
