A great base if you’re visiting Genoa for the first time. The place is spacious, well-furnished, and bright, with all the listed amenities in place. Public transport links are good, and many historic sites and restaurants are within walking distance. It does get noisy around there, so you’ll need to keep the windows completely shut for some quiet. The Wi-Fi is horrendous, with no signal strength at all. For some reason, mobile coverage is poor too.

Someone had locked the door from inside, and we couldn’t get in. We ended up sleeping on the stairs outside it, and in the morning the police helped us open the door. It was insane. Nobody wanted to help us, not the owner, not Booking, nobody.

You may not be able to get into the apartment, and could end up spending the night on the stairs or out on the street.

It’s a renovated, fully equipped apartment with a spacious bathroom, in a strategic spot for visiting the city center. It’s near the pedestrian area of the old port, which is full of attractions, and right at the beginning of Via San Lorenzo. The neighborhood stays lively until late, so it can get quite noisy.
