The setting is wonderfully peaceful, away from roads and town, with beautiful views in every direction. It's surrounded by fields between Como and the mountains, and feels safe for children. We loved the generous breakfasts in the garden restaurant and the gourmet dinners on weekends. There's an indoor pool, saunas, a tennis court, and good cycling routes to explore with kids. The spacious apartments are comfortable and well equipped, though a dishwasher would make them more convenient. Avoid rooms 3 and 4 if you can. Hot water pipes run underneath, so they're constantly heated. It was 35 degrees outside, and after using the AC to cool the room, it still reached 28 degrees at night when it had been 22 in the evening. Apart from that, we'd definitely return and recommend it to anyone after a quiet break in nature.

The spa includes a pool, sauna, and jacuzzi, but you need to book before using it. They limit it to seven people so it doesn't get overcrowded. There's free private parking on site, pets are welcome, and the local restaurant serves dinner Friday and Saturday and lunch Sunday. Booking ahead for the restaurant is better. We stayed in the superior family room, laid out over two floors. Downstairs had a living room, toilet, and fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs was an open space with two bedrooms and a toilet. The view of the Swiss Alps was great.

It's a little remote here, which made for a really quiet and peaceful stay. The mountains around it look superb, and the green grounds are lovely, especially at night with all the spotlights. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, and sorted out our questions quickly. Breakfast was nice, though it was mostly the same each day, so a bit more variety would be welcome.

A quiet place to stay with children, with a good spa area and several different saunas. There are routes for cycling, hiking, or just taking an evening walk. Varenna is about 25 minutes away by car or train, and has a good ferry connection to the rest of lake Como. The place is near the lake and has great service and a restaurant.

I stayed in March, when it was quiet and the weather was very pleasant. The rooms were clean, the jacuzzi pool was clean and beautiful, and breakfast was excellent. The breakfast staff were especially lovely and attentive, and reception was friendly and reliable. It's a beautiful place, and the price felt reasonable for the facilities. I had a very good experience and strongly recommend it.
