B&B MISTRAL di Lizzio Salvatore

The owner was welcoming, friendly and so helpful, and made us feel at home. The location is great, close to the train station and Giarre’s main street, and the price was excellent. The room and B&B were clean and well furnished, with Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, a small but well-stocked fridge, a balcony and a terrace with a lovely view of Etna. The bathroom was immaculate, with shampoo, conditioner, intimate soap, hand soap and even a hairdryer. If you forget any of those products, you’ll find them at Salvo's! Breakfast was generous: fresh croissants with cream or pistachio, which were delicious, tarts, American or espresso coffee, yogurt and fruit juice. Highly recommended!

Salvatore welcomed me and the other two guests with such kindness, helpfulness and a smile. I stayed two nights at the Mistral B&B in August 2020, and each morning, along with the already abundant breakfast, he brought us a delicious granita with brioche. Such a treat to taste a real Sicilian breakfast! Our room was spacious, super clean and fragrant, with a balcony that let in lots of light and looked across Giarre’s rooftops to the sea. Parking under the B&B was easy to find, day or night, and the location is strategic. Excellent value for money. We highly recommend it and will definitely come back. We picked this quiet spot in Giarre after leaving Taormina, where prices are high. Mr. Salvatore was super kind and helpful, greeting us with delicious fresh cannoli when we arrived. Even though we had to leave quite early, he kindly brought us granita with brioche col tuppo for breakfast. The room was clean and had a fridge and air conditioning. Free street parking is available below the property.

We ended up here at the last minute because our camper broke down. We called, and Salvatore welcomed us straight away. He even offered to take us to pick up the repaired vehicle, and let us wait in the cool shade for the repair shop to call, even after checkout time. He’s the host at the Mistral, and his warmth and helpfulness really show the kind of hospitality Sicilians can give. We’d only been there for a day, but leaving felt like saying goodbye to a dear friend or relative. It’s a lovely, extremely clean and tidy guest house, and you really do feel at home. There’s a well-stocked fridge, towels and air conditioning, plus a panoramic terrace where we chatted with Salvatore while watching Mongibello (aka Etna) throw a few tantrums. Breakfast was delicious, and Salvatore gets your favourite croissants, so try the pistachio ones! They say you cry twice when you leave the South. Here it was three times, when you arrive, swept up in the unique culture and climate, when you leave, and when you say goodbye to Salvatore. A must-see for anyone wanting to experience Sicily’s warmth. Thanks, Salvatore!
