The hotel's friendly staff, character, and good facilities were positives. Our room was a decent size and had good air conditioning. The restaurant food was good enough when we ate there one night, and the pool looked nice, though we didn't use it. It was frustrating that we weren't allowed to keep food in the room. The real problem was the location, and I wouldn't come back for that reason alone. You really need a hire car, but traffic around town is horrible. We were without the car on our first day and walked 15 minutes to the nearest bakery. There are no paths, so it felt dangerous, definitely not somewhere to walk with children.

The pool was lovely, and the staff were excellent and always happy to help arrange trips up Etna. It’s a peaceful place to stay, well placed for Mount Etna and Taormina.

We had a great view of Mount Etna from our room. The hotel was good, though having a car is very useful if you want to get around.

We were a family of four and had a fantastic stay. Thanks to all the staff for everything. The young man who sorted out our evening towels was kind, as was the gentleman at reception. A special mention to the woman with glasses at breakfast, she was always polite and smiling.

Seeing Etna Volcano from our room was a highlight. Our group of four also got the twin rooms and locations we had requested. The rooms were spacious, clean, well equipped, and in excellent condition. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, with lots of choice and fresh local produce. The pool area was well kept, with plenty of sunbeds and places to relax. Staff were welcoming and gave us plenty of help and recommendations, especially during the rail strikes and when we had questions about tours and facilities. Etna Hotel Giarre is a beautiful place with a relaxing feel, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you, I highly recommend it.
