The kitchen was worn out, and when they made the bed, they tossed the sheets onto the floor. Terrible.

The apartment has a private bathroom, heating and air conditioning, an elevator, and self check-in. It’s on the famous Via Corso, very close to the Spanish Steps, in a popular area packed with attractions. Nearby are the Basilica dei Santi Ambrogio e Carlo al Corso, the Colonna di Marco Aurelio, Piazza Colonna, the Obelisco di Montecitorio, and Giolitti, which has Rome’s best gelato. The Trevi Fountain area is also within easy reach, and a quick Google Maps search brings up countless other landmarks and attractions. We stayed in the smaller of two rental units inside the apartment, for two nights. The floor has two units, and the one we were in was divided into a large and a small rental apartment. Around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the small unit cost about €200 per night, not including city tax. It isn’t a large room, but the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is rectangular, with the shower and toilet on opposite sides. Heating pipes in the bathroom can dry hand-washed clothes, and the window looks onto small gardens belonging to other residents. The TV generally doesn’t have streaming, so you probably won’t use it much. The small bar has wine glasses, mugs, and a bottle opener, and the capsule coffee from the coffee machine is quite good. Everything was very clean. There’s often a friendly housekeeper around. She only speaks Italian, but she does her best to help sort out problems. If you have lots of rubbish, there are two or more bins downstairs by the entrance. Space is limited, so you have to block the doorway to open your luggage. The price isn’t cheap, but the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. I think it’s worth trying if the small room costs under €100 a night. Despite being in a busy area, it was surprisingly quiet outside for sleeping. After you open the unit’s combination lock, there’s a letter inside. In the drawer below are the keys to the main door and your room. The room uses a traditional key, which you need to carry when you leave, giving the place a homely feel. The main door is controlled remotely. The apartment is on the second floor: you first go up a staircase, then at the very end there’s a very small elevator. Two suitcases and one girl were basically enough to fill it. For transport, if you’re arriving by train, maps may suggest taking the metro from the Spanish Steps, but I personally wouldn’t recommend that route. The metro stations have no elevators, so you’d need to carry your luggage up stairs and then walk for about 10 minutes on cobblestone streets. That’s really hard on both your luggage and your physical strength. I’d suggest taking bus N46 or 71, or another bus you can find on Goodnap, to the Galleria Alberto Sordi stop opposite the Colonna di Marco Aurelio. The roads are paved and easier to manage with luggage. If your budget allows, a taxi costs twice as much. I recommend using Uber for online payment, as drivers here charge far too much. After booking, the agent will email you to ask you to check in online first. They’ll then send a link to open the main door and the keypad code for your unit. City tax can be paid by credit card. If the agent doesn’t meet you to collect it before check-in, they’ll email to arrange a collection time.
The room was so spacious and nice, and quiet, and I liked the window too. It’s right in the middle of the central shopping street. The owner was kind and really thoughtful about the details. There weren’t any slippers or hair conditioner. The station was a little far, but it was manageable.
The place was spotless, with brand new equipment and a comfortable, large bed. Even though it’s in a building on a main road, the room was quiet with no noise from outside. The location was perfect for our stay. There were kitchen facilities, including a kettle and coffee maker, plus sachets and capsules. Lots of thoughtful touches made it feel high quality: a lovely room fragrance, practical lighting with a USB lamp, quality bed linen, impeccable decoration, and a professional hairdryer in the bathroom, which matters to women. Even the view from the window, onto a small courtyard, had been made beautiful. The decoration showed excellent taste.
