Sicilia Hotel Spa

We were charged at checkout for a small cereal box one of our kids took from the breakfast items. That felt insane. There were four rooms in our booking, and in one of them the kids found a pretty large cockroach. I'm quite sure there were more in the other rooms too. The hallway carpet was very dirty. Breakfast was one of the poorest I've had at a place serving breakfast, and we had to ask them to refill the trays with different ingredients almost every time.

Breakfast was a disaster. The receptionist was the person preparing and serving it. We booked through boooking.com, where the hotel is listed as four stars, but found out on arrival that it is actually a three-star hotel. The interior looks like a three-star property and needs redecorating, and there's no elevator. When I complained, reception offered to help carry our luggage, but that doesn't solve the problem. My booking said cancelling our three-night stay would incur a 50% charge, yet the managers demanded the full amount.

The room was spacious and had air conditioning, plus a pleasant little balcony. The location is good, not far from the central area, and there's a restaurant attached. Breakfast is basic, with very few gluten-free options.

We went to the spa to relax, and the massage was very good. The whirlpool and sauna were great too. The staff were polite and really friendly. Thank you 👍👏
