Ciacco Hotel

The room was beautifully designed, with a very comfortable bed, welcome AC, and flawless housekeeping. Breakfast each morning was wholesome, with freshly brewed coffee. We stayed in the B&B, in the same building as the reception and chic dining room, while their hotel is down the street. Isabella and her father Franco were lovely hosts who made us feel welcomed into their home and shared something of themselves with us. The location is hard to beat, right by Piazza Plebiscito in the heart of Gioia del Colle. Across the street, the wine bar also serves great coffee. The Frederician Castle or Castella is just a three-minute walk away, with noteworthy exhibits from nearby excavations. Beershop 57, run by Isabella’s partner Pino, an architect and musician, is right across the way. It has good music and friendly banter every night. Gioia, as locals call it, has the feel of a classic small town in southern Italy, with some great family-run Mozzarella and Burrata shops. It’s also well placed for visiting Pugliese UNESCO jewels like Matera, Alberobello, and Monopoli. A must visit! I highly recommend Caicco B&B and Gioia. We had a fabulous time.
