We spent the first two weeks of July at Borgo San Francesco and had a fantastic time. Our family of five had a lovely duplex room, beautiful grounds, and a nice pool. Breakfast was optional, very nice, and not expensive. We ate dinner at the Borgo only a couple of times; the food was good, but we preferred going out. The staff were great and very helpful. We loved the area and nearby Gioiosa Marea, where we often went for dinner, a walk, and gelato. There’s a nice bakery at the bottom of the hill and two wineries within walking distance. A very good supermarket is just five minutes away by car. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

We slept well. It’s clean, basic accommodation at a great price, in an authentic borgo with lovely stepped gardens and quaint buildings. Breakfast was superb, with lots of choice, served in a pleasant sunny restaurant with amazing views.

The setting is lovely and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and we were able to properly rest. The staff were very kind, and they surprised us with a gift from the hotel at the end of our stay. Breakfast was a letdown, though, with limited choices and poor-quality products. Still, highly recommended!

The pool stayed uncrowded, and the kids had fun with the archery and table tennis. It was also easy to choose restaurant meals as we went, with options for the children and a vegetarian. William (manager) and Antonio (restaurant manager) were incredibly helpful, and the room was clean, with a mini-kitchen and air conditioning. There’s a bakery and a wine producer within a 10-15 minute walk. Breakfast was good value, though the selection was just okay and some things ran out near the end of service. A bit of fresh fruit would have been nice.

The staff are warm, friendly, and really attentive, and the restaurant is excellent. The little houses are cute and comfortable, with a stunning view. It feels more like a village than a hotel, and for us this little spot of paradise had no downsides.
