Il Cicero - Camping & Residence

The campsite itself is fine, basic, and has clean bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, and San Giorgio is less than a 10-minute walk along the seafront. But we had sleepless nights because the big nightclub next door, which isn't part of the campsite, played loud music until after 5am on both Saturday and Sunday. We could hear every word the DJ said from our tent, and nobody warned us when we checked in.

This might work as a self-catering option for families with very little to spend, small children, big dogs, and similar needs. It depends on what you expect and what you pay. For a tour, though, it wasn't much good. The night screams from the Italian neighbors, the train passing right under my window, and the awful squeal of the damaged toilet door made the bungalows hard to bear. We also saw countless insects, lizards, and a big rat on the compound fence. Nobody cleaned the room during our 7 nights, and I'm not here to scrub sinks and floors. The rain shower is meant to save water, but good luck washing properly with it. They gave us one tiny bar of soap for 7 days and 2 people. I'll stop there, since clearly nothing will change. At least I had noise-cancelling earplugs, or I might have been tempted to sleep on the beach.

The private beach and pool were both lovely, and the staff made the stay especially nice. They were attentive, caring, and quick to provide what we needed, really making an effort to make everything special. We had a wonderful time at Andrea, Marion and Evald :) and are already planning to come back. Cari saluti!

The oceanfront setting and beach were hard to beat, and the pool was even better. After three weeks travelling around Italy in our campervan, Il Cicero was easily one of our best stops. The staff were diligent and professional, and very flexible while we were there. There were recurring shows and activities that we enjoyed attending, and the campsite suited families, couples, and solo travellers alike. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.
