We had a lovely three days at Villa al Mare before heading home. The veranda was a cool, shaded spot for reading, and our bedroom and bathroom were spacious and spotless. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and Rafaella made us feel at home right away. The sea is about a hundred meters away, Giovinazzi's old centre is an easy walk to the north with some unexpected gems, and Bari airport is only 15-20 minutes away by car. A great way to end our holiday, thanks to our hosts.

We were stuck in this crowded, unwelcoming place after the owners refused to refund our payment. We had booked with our one-year-old, but were then told our child had disturbed the other guests by waking early. The owner also yelled at us over our child moving the TV remote, waking him from his sleep, and accused us of disrespecting the place because we used a towel to clean up after breakfast. There was no room, space, or hospitality for a small child or their parents, so I don't understand why they happily took our money knowing we had a child with us. This was the most unfriendly, horrible stay I've ever had. Not a place for families. Stay away.

The B&B looks great, but it didn't feel private, with guests from somewhere else coming into the space for breakfast. The surrounding area also looked sketchy and dangerous to me. The owner defends the Russian flag in front of the B&B, which I see as support for Russian aggression against Ukraine. When you leave a bad review, the owner goes into denial and starts criticizing you, saying you left a horrible mess. I definitely won't return.

The garden was superb, and breakfast came with a sea view and focaccia from Bari. We were welcomed warmly, and both the room and shared spaces were very well kept. Thanks again.
