Watch out, we got scammed! A reception staff member tried to charge us €80 for a 3 km taxi ride to the train station. He said a “helpful” friend could take us for €40, but in the end that person drove us for €20. I’m sure they split the money from their trick. Future travellers, don’t come without your own transport. There’s no public transport available.

The staff were very kind, the breakfast was lovely, and we liked the design and theme of both the suites and standard rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful. Still, we were unhappy paying over €100 a night for the Inferno suite, which had signs of old water damage on the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, and several broken buttons on the wall socket. There were no English instructions for the jacuzzi, and its water dispensers didn’t all work properly. Nobody showed us where the restaurant or bar was, and we had to ask where to find the Wi-Fi password and breakfast ourselves. The blankets had cigarette burns and hair from other people or cleaning staff. The woman the hotel kindly arranged to drive us elsewhere drove unsafely and didn’t take us to the exact location, so we had to walk around and find our own way.

Francesco hung up on me twice when I asked why. He said it was because he doesn’t speak English. That’s a pathetic excuse for a person providing service. He deserves a zero. Don’t stay there, it isn’t worth it.

A very clean, lovely old-style Italian hotel with really friendly, helpful staff. You do need a car because it’s a 20-minute drive from central Naples.
