Masseria Muntibianchi AgriResort Restaurant & SPA

The garden and swimming pool were lovely, and the team was very kind. Breakfast was excellent, and I’ll miss the ladies singing while they served coffee. We also ate at the very good restaurant. This is a lovely masseria, well placed about five minutes by car from Otranto and Alimini beach.

For a three-star hotel, this felt more like a very good four-star, almost five-star stay. The grounds are large and beautiful, surrounded by olive trees and other Agri resorts, about a five-minute drive inland from Otranto. The gardens and entrance are impressive, and the pool area is exceptional, with a smaller private pool or jacuzzi tucked into a walled garden beside the main one. Staff, food, and housekeeping were all amazing. There were free refreshments at reception, and we got a complimentary bottle of local olive oil when we arrived. My one small gripe is that water is charged after the first bottle, which seemed a bit mean in such a hot country. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

The food was a real highlight, especially the incredibly fresh fish and the wonderful mix of flavors. Breakfast was huge and varied, and the peaceful setting made it a lovely way to start the day. The place itself is breathtaking, like a calm, safe little bubble, with beautifully designed and decorated areas. The pool and spa are great for relaxing. Most of all, the lovely people looking after us made everything feel perfect from start to finish. Their attention to detail and effort to keep guests happy meant a lot. Many thanks to Alessandra at reception, and to her colleague at the restaurant, the kind man with glasses who speaks French.

We booked the Chic Nic and the Spa, and both were amazing. Everyone made us feel like family from check-in onward, and the staff were attentive and helpful throughout. The room, grounds, and spa were exceptional. Such a wonderful stay at the Masseria, very close to Otranto. This place is a must.
