Breakfast was a generous buffet, with plenty of breads, pastries, meats, and cheeses, plus an automatic machine for cappuccino and espresso. They also serve dinner for guests who don’t want to drive to Malles Venosta. This is a clean, well-kept, family-run B&B in tiny Glurns (Glorenza), in the Sudtirol, and the staff were very accommodating. The Wi-Fi was weak in parts of my room but worked better in the lobby. It’s not fancy, but I’d stay again if I planned to visit Glurns.

The Angerer's are a wonderfully hospitable family, from mom and dad to their son and extended family. Their whole aim is to serve guests and make them feel welcome and happy. In decades of travel, I’ve never had better hosts. They made us feel like close family, and they’re clearly in the right business. Sylvana especially stands out, a buoyant, tireless matriarch who’s always smiling. After our small group of cyclists reached the place after 8:30 PM, worn out from a brutal day on the bike, she opened the kitchen for us, and her husband, the chef, made us GREAT pasta. It set the tone for our three-day stay. The breakfasts were phenomenal and the dinners sumptuous, all worthy of a top restaurant. The rooms were clean and spacious, many with balconies. The location is prime, about 50 yards from the Val Venosta bike path and a few hundred feet from the centre of charming Glurns/Glorenza. Out of nearly six weeks of travelling, Garni Glurnserhof was our most enjoyable stay, thanks to the whole family’s warmth and infectious enthusiasm, especially Sylvana. Five stars from the moment we arrived. I’d go back in a heartbeat and would give it six stars if I could!

I came here to go fishing and will definitely return. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast had everything I could want: homemade jams, plenty of breads and pastries, and sensational homemade apple juice. The hotel isn’t new, but it’s lovingly maintained.
