Okay...
The rooms were spotless, and surprisingly accessible for disabled guests, which is hard to find. Little thoughtful touches made the stay feel comfortable and homely, and breakfast was even better, with loads of choice and Cinzia happy to accommodate requests on the spot. After eight months of work travel, we hadn't come across owners as generous and helpful as the people at Silicanum. You can tell they put their heart into it. After our eight-hour journey, with exhausting work ahead, we were in a bad mood. Cinzia and Adriano welcomed us into their peaceful oasis with a glass of their own wine, and that changed everything. They shared stories about the place and the war, drawing us into the setting and its past and leaving us wanting to learn more. I'd give the rooms 10 out of 5. Thank you for a few days of fresh air.
The mosquitoes really got to us, and they hadn't mentioned that a summer camp was taking place that day. At the entrance there was a street food truck serving quick dishes. The beautiful pool was very clean, and umbrellas and sunbeds cost more than fair prices. They didn't issue receipts, which was a negative, though perhaps there's some special tax (?) involved.
The pool is nice and open to outside visitors too. The rooms were clean but a little dated, and the price felt a bit high, especially the €15 charge for a dog that can't use any of the services.
