Albergo Sorriso

The hotel has a lovely riverside setting and sits near the center, though the outside looks dated. The rooms are uneven: some feel five-star, while others seem closer to two, three, or four stars. For a three-star place, I expected more. At least the rooms are grouped close together, but the parquet floors creak and the doors bang when opened or shut. Meals were disappointing. Breakfast was very basic, with croissants bought from the supermarket. The packed lunch was just a ham sandwich, though that part was quite good. Dinner was the same each day: the pasta made many children ill, the main course was okay, and I didn't like the dessert at all. There was even dessert left after dinner, and I saw the chef, who always gives people a sidelong look, eating it “secretly.” P.S. The five-star room has two TVs with Netflix and YouTube.

The food was good, and the staff were friendly and ready to help with whatever came up during our stay. The owner greets you like you're coming into her own home, so you really do feel at home. I was there with my school. The rooms are plain and simply furnished, but I appreciated how clean and orderly everything was.

The location is excellent for getting to the beach in Grado, and the place is comfortable if all you need is something simple. It's aimed at budget travelers and school groups. Rooms are dated but clean, and the service is average. The food seemed frozen or supermarket bought. I noticed a fried-food smell when I came in, which bothered me a little. But I didn't see any insects during my stay!

Signora Regina welcomed our group of 50 high school students for three days and met every request with a smile. She made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere felt warm and family friendly, and the food was simple and authentic.
