Angela even arranged a lovely beach gazebo for us, and the hotel lent us new bikes for free. She and her husband Carlos are both so kind, and Angela is a beautiful soul. We loved having breakfast outside, and the hotel was peaceful and super clean, with great parking. It’s in the old town, just a minute from a nice little beach. Breakfast was great too. Truly the nicest hotel in Grado, and the best location. We’ll definitely return, and I’d choose Villa Erica again.

Mini-golf is nearby, and the nightlife is just around the corner. If you’re looking for more activities for children, though, the beach is really the only option, and you have to drive quite a way for anything else. Pretty much every restaurant in this little town is worth recommending. The hotel is in the lower part of the town center, on the second row from the Esplanade, so it’s a little quieter than staying right on it. Breakfast was great, and everyone at reception and among the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were okay for a mid-range price. The one drawback for me was the shower. They seem to be cramped everywhere in Grado, though I’m not sure if that’s true throughout Italy. As a tall, average-built man, I had some trouble fitting in.
