The hotel form I filled out on our second-to-last day got a quick response. We were given fresh sheets and even a new mattress. Before I replied to the hotel’s online review, the location was my main concern. It’s along a busy road, with a quiet factory behind it, though we knew that already. The staff were friendly, especially Santiago, and the price was good. Towels were changed daily when needed, but I had to ask housekeeping for fresh sheets after five days, and the duvet cover wasn’t changed during our seven-day stay. The mattress should have been replaced a year ago, with two deep spots where you sink in. There was power and a USB outlet on only one side of the bed, and just three electrical outlets in the whole room.

The room card stopped working four times in our three nights, so I kept having to go back to reception. The staff acted indifferent each time, barely greeted me, and didn’t seem to care about the hassle. I also felt brushed off when I tried to speak Italian, although I speak it reasonably well. They often shut down the conversation or ignored me, which felt disrespectful. On our last night, we got back after midnight. As we were about to enter the hotel parking lot, the receptionist closed the gate in front of us, so we had to park outside. When we asked why inside, he said he hadn’t seen us, even though he had looked our way. The next morning the manager was unavailable. I explained everything to another receptionist, who didn’t apologize until I said he should. The hotel felt unwelcoming from the start. Staff stared at us and were generally impolite. There were visible stains on the carpets, and the place seemed poorly maintained. Breakfast was disappointing too, with very little choice. When I asked the receptionist to bring bread because there wasn’t any, he said he’d check, then ignored the request. I had a very disappointing stay at Ibis Como. The service, cleanliness, and lack of care for guests make it somewhere I wouldn’t recommend.

The location was convenient, close to everything, and still quiet at night. I found the room clean, modern, and comfortable, and the small touches were nice: fresh towels, a little souvenir, and fast Wi-Fi. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. I had a wonderful stay, thank you. :)

I’ve stayed here at least five times. It’s a no-frills hotel with a basic room, but they put in a lot of effort to make it comfortable. The location works well for me, not far from the autostrada or the Swiss border, and the price is reasonable. Staff were super nice and helpful, especially receptionist Giorgia. Breakfast was more than adequate for a hotel in Italy. Nothing fancy, just right for what I need.
