The hillside is peaceful and makes a lovely base for hikes and bike rides. You can also walk to the téléferique for a trip to Aosta or up into the hills, so there's no need for a car. The food feels homemade and served with care, with generous plenty every day. It's a friendly, fun place, and the family-run hotel looks after you well. Whether you're here as a couple, on your own, with friends or with family, it's easy to enjoy a stay. Plenty of people return after their first visit, and I can see why :)

I first visited the Tivet as a little child, and my most recent visit was at Easter 2016. Lunch was outstanding: local dishes on a top-notch buffet to start, then a choice of first and second courses. I had pasta with venison followed by veal with polenta, and finished with a wonderful selection of homemade desserts. If you're nearby, it's well worth a visit for the local food.

I tried making a reservation on the hotel website twice, but it wouldn't accept my credit card. I called twice to find a solution, and the receptionist was quite unpleasant. They just said, “Our system works, it is your credit card,” and didn't offer to make the booking over the phone. Pathetic and not very client friendly.

The food is excellent, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Mrs. Agnese is wonderful. It's a family-run hotel with all the comforts, about 15 minutes from the ski lifts and five minutes from the Pila cable car. They also run a shuttle to the slopes.

After skiing, the spa is a lovely place to unwind. It's kept in meticulous condition and has a wood-fired sauna overlooking the valley, plus an ice-cold tub. The family running the hotel are warm, friendly and professional, and the cuisine is stellar. They use local produce, cook it expertly and serve generous portions. Traditional local dishes get special attention, and the dining room is warmed by a fireplace with a view over the valley. I hope I can return soon.
