TH Gressoney la Trinitè - Monboso Hotel

The buffet food was good considering how much they prepared, though there could have been more kinds of fruit. The hotel is really close to the slopes. The snow lockers are very old and rusty, and the pool table looks like it belongs to Frankenstein. Our room felt small for three or four people. The carpet wasn't vacuumed much, and although the beds were made and towels changed throughout our stay, the floor was never vacuumed.

The hotel gets busy, with school groups as well as private guests, so it isn't always quiet. Still, the staff are the real highlight, very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast and dinner both had plenty of good options. I'm here now on my second visit in three years, and for a ski trip it has just what you need. It's also conveniently close to the lifts and worth the price.

We had a fantastic holiday, and the staff at reception, the bar, and in the dining room were all lovely and very helpful. The evening meal was great, especially the generous salad bar to start, and breakfast offered a good range too. We liked having table wine included. It's an easy walk to the slopes, with a few lifts less than five minutes away, and the hotel was very good value. Our room was a decent size, had a safe, and was cleaned daily. The shower always had nice hot water. One practical thing: the socket isn't a standard European one, so bring a three-pronged Italian adapter. There aren't many shops nearby to sort that out. There were a lot of schoolchildren, but they caused no trouble and seemed to enjoy the evening entertainment. There's also a games room with ping pong and table football. It's not a fancy hotel, but the price is good and the people are great. Thanks to all the staff!

We've felt welcome all week, and the location is right beside the ski lift. I had read plenty of complaints about Italian school trips, but if you're not part of one, there's a separate, more relaxed place to eat. The lockers seem perfectly normal, like elsewhere. The rooms are a little older, but spacious, and the food was good with lots to choose from. 5/5.
