The owners are the real highlight. They’re a lovely couple who make you feel at home straight away. The surrounding nature is exceptional and makes Villa San Michele a special place to unwind. The old hotel building has been refurbished beautifully, keeping its charm, and everything was spotless. Dinner was fantastic, with plenty of homemade food prepared from fresh local ingredients. You can taste the difference, and they know the local wines well, with recommendations that were right on the mark. I’d happily return.

We dropped in for lunch while doing a loop hike nearby, and it was a lovely stop. The setting is quiet and surrounded by nature, and the hospitality was top notch. The wine was great, the tagliere came with amazing pecorino, and the pasta dishes were excellent. Tiramisu was the standout for me. The location alone makes it worth visiting, and the quality of the food made lunch memorable.

We came to Villa San Michele in October, looking for somewhere peaceful after the crowds in Florence, and it was exactly right. The views were stunning, and the place was quiet. Alice’s cooking was so good that we tried about half the menu. We had a wonderful stay, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I hope to come back.
