A nice apartment, and the owner was friendly and nice too.

Lorenzo Becattini really made us feel welcome. He speaks impeccable English, gave us tips on what to see and what to skip, and even helped us pay a fine that had arrived at a tollbooth and was written entirely in Italian. When we arrived in the early evening, we'd planned to eat at the Becattini restaurant, which is above the apartment, but it was closed. Lorenzo and his parents made up for it with a generous snack, served with real warmth. Just remember that the restaurant isn't open every day. The apartment is in Poggio della Croce, a village high above the valley on a small winding road, with two peaks framing the setting. The rooms are spacious and airy. Each bedroom opens through French doors onto a large balcony, where the valley views and sunsets are spectacular. There are no mosquito nets, though. Wi-Fi was also a weak point. The router isn't very powerful, so getting online can be difficult. We had a quality stay in a beautiful part of Tuscany and highly recommend the rental.

A lovely place, and the owners are friendly. Great for a green getaway, close to Florence and Arezzo, or for exploring Chianti.
