Casa Alta

Casa Alta is one of two apartments in an old Tuscan house among the vineyards. We had a very comfortable stay. The vaulted ceiling keeps the original character, while the place has modern conveniences, including a fully equipped kitchen, espresso machine, and a power shower we especially liked. Anna had stocked useful basics like salt, oil, coffee capsules, and dishwasher tabs, which made arrival easy. The two bedrooms each have their own bathroom. They're compact but comfortable, with very comfy beds and lovely vineyard views from the windows. The living room and kitchen are generous in size. Outside, the two apartments share a beautiful garden, each with its own table at the entrance and a separate gazebo. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening in both spots. It's very peaceful here, and we could properly relax. There are one or two similar properties nearby, plus an excellent, popular restaurant that gets busy. It was full the first day, but we ordered takeaway and had a delicious dinner in our own dining room. Other amenities are about a 15-minute drive away, which was fine for us. The Coop supermarket in Greve stays open fairly late on weekdays and until lunchtime on Sundays, according to Google Maps. The last few kilometres to the house are unpaved and slow, but our Golf managed fine. It adds to the romantic feel of the setting. Anna was a great host, sent useful information a week in advance, and replied right away whenever we had questions. There's also a brand-new 14-meter pool, which is rare. Our whole group loved the house and would happily come again.
