Fattoria E Villa Di Rignana

We had a lovely stay in this old house, with beautiful views. The view from our room was outstanding, and breakfast was great. We also toured the tanks and cellar and tasted five wines with the friendly owner, who answered all our questions. I just wish we’d spent more time really tasting, guessing the aromas and flavors. We did get our share of drinking, though.

We joined a wine tour and tasting, and the wines were excellent. We brought a couple of cases home. Special thanks to Alessandro for making our stay so memorable. For lunch and dinner, nearby La Cantinetta Di Rignana is a great option. The pool sits among the hills with a magical view, such a relaxing spot. The old, authentic building has nice furniture and a comfortable bed in the room. The bathroom is a bit dated, but perfectly sufficient. Breakfast was a real pleasure on the terrace, with birdsong all around. The table is very big, and the spread was high quality.

Rignana has been the highlight of our 12-day trip to Italy two years running. The views are stunning, and breakfast each morning is tasty and well rounded, with good coffee. Book the restaurant ahead because it fills up. It is a hands-off kind of stay, which suits us in Tuscany. You don’t need TV or fast internet, just good food, wine, and friends. If you want more attention, this may not be the place for you. Only some rooms have AC because of the original frescoes in certain rooms. The owners are easy to reach by email if you have specific questions. The room photos I posted are from the “Fattoria” (Farm) side, which is more rustic than the Villa side. Love love love Rignana.

The self-serve wine made for fun evenings with the other guests, and the cantina is just a short walk away. We stayed in a lovely three-person room. The grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent, and you can really enjoy the peaceful side of Tuscany here. Highly recommend.
