Villa Panzalla

Stefano made our stay fantastic, and this was our favorite place of the whole trip. Our family of six had plenty of room in the ancient building, which the Medici's used as a hunting holiday home. We used the kitchen and washer often. Stefano also arranged the best wine tasting and lunch we’ve ever had, at a beautiful winery about 25-30 minutes away. We missed our dogs, so he kindly brought over Lucio, his adorable english bulldog, or as Stefano calls him, half bulldog, half boar. We’re already looking forward to visiting again.

We spent a week at Villa panzalla with our teenage kids and had a lovely time. The owner, Stefano, was really nice and helpful. The porch view was breathtaking. The house sits up in the hills, so driving down to town takes a while, but it’s worth it. A jeep is probably your best bet for the road. There wasn’t WiFi, which the kids noticed, but a few board games helped. The rooms were clean and had a vintage look we liked, and there’s a wood-burning fireplace. We stocked up on food, drinks and snacks at the Coop supermarket, had lunch out during the day, then made dinner at the house in the evenings.

The route up to Villa Fabbroni gives you magnificent views across Chianti Wine Country in Tuscany. The staff were outstanding, the house Chef was amazing, and the accommodation was cozy and very clean. Absolutely spectacular, a little slice of heaven and Tuscany’s best kept secret.

The view is extraordinary, but the house and accommodation are basic, with an older setup. Everything you need is there, including two bathrooms and three bedrooms. The guest pool is 30 meters down. It’s a long drive up the mountain, and the last 1.5 km is a dirt road, so the driver needs to feel confident on it.
