Podere Brughee

Being up in the mountains among the cows and donkeys was a real pleasure. The house cat, whom we called Lucy, was sweet and friendly, and stayed outdoors. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were all lovely and clean. The villa was beautiful and well kept, with around seven bedrooms, so it worked well for a large group. Each room had its own private bathroom, modern shower and bidet, and plenty of hot water. If you stay here, be sure to rent a car, since the climb up and down the mountain to town is very long and steep.

There was room for all 14 adults, with plenty of space and a nice outdoor dining area. The pool was lovely and cleaned daily. It’s great for parties and wellness, and I’d highly recommend it.

We had a small, intimate wedding at Podere Brughee, and the house was just the right size for us and our guests during the wedding week. There was lots to do both at the house and nearby. Giuseppe was a great, helpful host who made sure everything went well and offered recommendations. The animals were so friendly, and our younger guests had a great time meeting them. We finished the trip with brunch at the house. Giuseppe worked closely with our caterer to make sure it was all beautifully set up. It was wonderful. I can’t wait to come back!

The grounds felt pastoral, with farm animals in the surrounding pastures, chestnut trees, and beautiful views. There were nature hikes just minutes on foot from the gate, and the enchanting village was a short walk away, with its narrow lanes, passageways, and stairways. Stores, restaurants, the lake ferry, more walks and hikes, and lovely views were a short drive away. Inside, the house had three levels, with plenty of shared and private areas indoors and out. There were two well-equipped kitchens, a huge dining space, a washer and dryer, Jacuzzi, sauna, ping pong table, and more. It made our family holiday truly special. I couldn’t recommend it more.
